There are a few problems and image errors in infrared photography that are no longer known in \"normal\" photography. Lens flares in backlit situations are one example, which is why it is more common not to have the sun directly in the picture. Nevertheless, it can sometimes be worthwhile to do so and include the resulting \"image errors\" directly in the image composition. The low sun was deliberately placed here as a counterweight to the tree on the right-hand side of the picture. The lens flares protrude over the entire image, giving the sun a much greater significance in the picture. Without the lens flares, it would probably \"only\" be the brightest point in the picture, but this way it influences the entire scenery right into the shadow areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, the photo was taken on the island of R\u00fcgen, an infrared workshop will take place there in early July 2022 and there are still places available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
