Infrared conversion Canon EOS RP

Infrared conversion service for Canon EOS R and EOS RP

Today I am happy to officially announce that the first cameras of the mirrorless full-frame series Canon EOS R are officially supported by me. The conversion of an EOS R or EOS RP can be can be ordered directly via my online store.

As with almost all Canon cameras, the sensor cleaning function is lost during the conversion. It is particularly important that this is not activated as a start action in the menu. The camera recognizes that the filter is missing and issues an error message. The camera can no longer start properly and is stuck in a boot loop, making it practically unusable.

I would also like to point out that some RF lenses have an internal infrared LED. I don't know what this is for, but the stray light can ruin the image in dark surroundings or with long exposure times. This problem has already been reported in various places on the Internet, so this system is only suitable for long exposure and astrophotography with adapted EF lenses or telescopes.

For infrared photography, however, the EOS R system opens up many possibilities for achieving first-class quality results. As is typical for Canon, the cameras manage the white balance straight away - so you always have an accurate preview on the display and viewfinder and can also record infrared videos without any problems.
