Would you like to buy a specific camera model? Or do you already have your own camera and would like to have it converted for infrared photography? We will be happy to carry out the conversion for you and, if necessary, also take care of your desired model. Please have a quick look at the Camera models. If your camera is not listed there, this does not mean that it is unsuitable for conversion. In principle, any camera can be converted for infrared photography.

Infrared Camera Conversion

The hotmirror filter in front of the camera sensor is replaced by an infrared filter. In addition, the camera's autofocus is calibrated for the infrared range. This gives you a native infrared camera that you can use as normal, even without a tripod.

Infrared Filter Choice

You have the choice between many different filters. 280 nm (full spectrum), 630 nm and 700 nm are already included in the basic price for the conversion. Other filter options are available for an additional charge. Information on the filters can be found in the infrared section under Infrared Effect Filter Comparison. In addition to the comparison between the filters, you will also find original RAW files for download. Satisfaction Guarantee and Risk

In my experience, the probability of the camera being damaged during conversion is very low. Of course, I can never completely rule out a defect, which is why we also bear the risk of the conversion. Should we actually damage something on your camera, we will either replace the current value of the camera or arrange for an equivalent replacement device.

If your camera is modified, we are unfortunately unable to grant a classic right of return, which would mean reinstalling the original filter. However, if you are not satisfied within 14 days, you can send the camera back to us and we will refund the invoice amount plus the current value of the camera or provide an equivalent replacement device.

Please bear in mind that any existing manufacturer's warranty expires during conversion. However, we grant a 1-year warranty on the proper functioning of the camera (both for the conversion service and for the purchase of an infrared camera). So if, contrary to expectations, something no longer functions correctly after the first 14 days, you do not need to worry about this either.

Infrared Conversion Process

When the camera is on the List of officially supported cameras you can directly in the online store to place an order. If your camera is not listed, or if you have any questions, you can also send me an e-mail to info@IRreCams.de stating the camera model and the desired filter. You can also use the Request Form use.

In addition to the camera, we ask you to include a fully charged battery. We usually already have a lens and a memory card here. We recommend that you send the camera insured with a logistics service provider of your choice.

Once the camera has been received, it will usually be converted for you within 14 days. At peak times, however, the processing time may be extended in exceptional cases. A shortened, guaranteed processing time of max. 7 or max. 3 days from arrival of the camera is possible for an additional charge. After successful conversion, you will receive the invoice and the camera will be sent back to you at the same time.

After successful conversion you will receive an invoice, at the same time the camera will be sent back. You have a 14-day payment period to pay the invoice amount (either via bank transfer or PayPal). No prepayment is necessary.

Costs of the Infrared Conversion

For the conversion of a digital SLR camera, we charge from €260* including 280, 630 or 700 nm filters, adjustment of the autofocus and return shipment of the camera within Germany.

We offer the conversion of a digital mirrorless system camera from €250* at the same conditions.

Depending on the filter choice, camera model and processing time, there may be additional costs. These will be displayed in the order process in the store. A price overview for the base price can be found on the overview page.

*The prices include statutory value added tax. We reserve the right to charge a different price for selected models that are particularly complex to convert (which we will discuss with you before the conversion). The installation of other filters is possible for an additional charge. Changes and errors excepted.

Shipping

Shipping is carried out exclusively by DHL as insured parcel shipping. You can choose to have the camera delivered to your home or specify a Packstation as the delivery address. Shipping usually takes place from Monday to Saturday. Shipping within Germany is generally free of charge for the conversion service. All prices include shipping costs (if not explicitly stated). Shipping to other EU countries is also possible, here we charge a shipping fee of 10,- €. Shipping outside the EU is not possible.

Payment Options

You can pay the invoice amount either by bank transfer or PayPal. If you use the conversion service, you can pay conveniently on account. The payment period is 14 days. If you buy a fully converted camera from our stock or a new camera, payment must be made in advance. You will always receive details of the payment options (bank details, PayPal account) together with your invoice.
