With the Infrared Flash Adapter, you can convert your existing flash unit into an infrared flash unit. With the adapter, you can use an infrared screw-in filter with a diameter of 67 mm This blocks the visible light of the flash and only infrared radiation is emitted. With an IR-sensitive camera, the subject can be illuminated without disturbing the surroundings with the flash light. This illumination is particularly suitable for undisturbed photography of shy animals and for automatic photo traps.
To make the flash invisible to the human eye, stronger IR filters are more suitable, we recommend our 830 nm filter (stronger filters with 850 nm also work, of course). When flashing, the flash unit is not 100% invisible, a fraction of red light can penetrate the filter. When looking directly into the flash unit, a faint red glow is visible. However, the IR light emitted in the surroundings is absolutely visible.
The base body of the adapter is manufactured using a 3D printing process with 100% recycled plastic. The plastic is dimensionally stable, waterproof and UV-stable even at high outside temperatures. The connection to the flash is made with 8 strong neodymium magnets which provide a strong and secure hold and can be replaced quickly at the same time. The screw-in filters are screwed into a 67 mm aluminum socket.
Our Infrared Flash Adapter does not fit all flash units, please check the compatibility of the adapter according to our list. If there is no compatible Flash Adapter for your flash unit, you can send us your flash unit and we will design an adapter exactly for your unit. Please select "I send my own flash" and send us the flash. We need approx. 14 days from the arrival of your flash to adapt it to your flash unit.
