The IRreCams Magnet Base Adapter fits all standard photo lenses. Please select the appropriate size for your lens.
-> For each filter you also need a Magnetic filter adapter in the same size.
Our magnetic filter adapters basically consist of two rings:
1. the magnetic base adapter ring is screwed onto the lens once and can remain there permanently.
2. the Magnetic filter adapter ring is screwed onto each filter, from now on it snaps onto the lenses as if by magic.
This system works with ALL filters that you already have. In particular, of course, IR filters from us or other manufacturers. But ND or polarizing filters can also be used on unconverted cameras without any problems. In contrast to other suppliers of such magnetic adapter rings, we have them in stock from 49 to 82 mm, ideal for compact always-on IR cameras. In addition, you are not forced to buy the rings as a set. You can order exactly the quantity you need - this reduces waste and saves costs.
There are of course advantages and disadvantages to this system, which we would like to briefly highlight:
+ compatible with (almost) ALL lenses and filters you already have - no manufacturer lock-in
+ available for threads from 49 to 82 mm
+ Secure and strong connection thanks to several magnets in both rings
+ The ribbed outside of the filter ensures that it can be gripped easily and securely
+ each ring can be ordered individually, only as much as you actually need
+ Paper packaging saves waste and is easy to recycle
- it is not possible to use several filters at the same time (unless they are screwed together) - stacking several filters does not work
- the additional rings can restrict the field of view with ultra-wide-angle lenses - we recommend our Plus filters or filters with a slim mount to minimize the risk of vignetting (for dimensions, see "Technical data" tab)
- Lenses with narrow sun visors may no longer be able to be fitted (for dimensions, see "Technical data" tab)
- your existing lens caps can be snapped into the magnetic base adapter, but they do not hold as tightly as in a real thread
All values are approximate, a minimum series dispersion and measurement inaccuracies are possible.
